Enticing Bhutan Dragon's Masterpiece ~ Bhutan
10 days 11 nights

The Lost Horizon is found again – or was it ever lost? The book made famous by James Hilton depicted an idyllic settlement high in the mountains of Tibet. When Bhutan opened to the world for tourism in 1975, many thought that Bhutan was that very place and it has been referred to as such many times. Our tour takes you to the paradise that could very well have been the fabled kingdom.

Visit the magnificent Dzongs (temples), climb the Eastern Himalayas while searching out rare species of flora and fauna. Marvel at the National animal the Takin known as the goat headed bull. These endangered animals are grass and leaf eaters and very gentle by nature.

In November you can see the Black Necked Crane Festival or travel higher to seek out the exquisite Golden Langur. Grey Langurs may pop their heads out on a climb to Tigers Nest Monastery. Flower lovers are not forgotten and with many species like the white poppy only found in the Haa Valley, it is a photographers paradise.

Tour begins in Paro and takes in Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha in the Wangdue Valley, Bumthang in the north and the Haa Valley.
